VRArt Live - features & Art Challenges
VRArt Live is a place for all VR/XR artists; creators, designers, performers, experience/game/app developers, ect., to be featured, and for interested ones to participate in our events! How? Sign up using the Join button at the top of this page to get access to member features. You should receive a confirmation email guiding you to submit your details to request an Artist's profile here on the website. As a member you'll have access to other features we offer, such as, live shows, events, panel talks, live interviews about you and your art, being on our Show Team, and more! VR Art Live- Art Challenges
We are currently running the Year Of VR Art challenge. This is our year-long challenge which involves creating VR art or VR art focused media all year long. There are daily, weekly, monthly, or casual participation levels to choose from. The personal goals to aim for in this challenge are; staying consistently creative all year long, opening your mind to new themes, and developing a habit of accountability by submitting links of your posted art before the due date using the Art-Link Submission Form for your tally count.
The challenge officially starts January 1st of each year but you are free to join at any time of the year. Read our yearly YearOfVRArt blog for other clarifications, or current modifications to the challenge. There are currently two categories of content to submit for; VRArt, and VRArtMedia. The focus of this challenge is on art & performance made in VR using VR art creation apps, or alternative media made about VR art, for example, blogs written about VR artists, their artwork, or about a VR art/performance event, show, or world.
Rewards are available for those who complete certain levels of the challenge. An Awards Event is held for these participants after the challenge is complete for that year. A final summary will be available upon request for each participant, no matter what level of participation, throughout the year through the Challenge Summary Request Form during January following the close of the year's challenge.

Usage & Terms
The artists submit shared social media post links of their artwork made for the challenge and these links are not used in any way other than confirmation of the submission content, the tally, and for the Challenge Summary request form responses, unless otherwise noted on the Art-Link Submission Form. Links submitted for the challenge can include sharing a post from Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, the VRArtLive Discord, Imgur, TikTok, personal websites, Pinterest, Youtube, Vimeo, ect. The link submissions are kept on record until the challenge is over and the final tally is in and until an unspecified time to be able to share the requested records with the participants upon request during January following the end of the year's challenge.
Sign up for the challenge using the general Sign-Up Form & Request for Art Features form.
Create your VR art or media covering VR art and post it on a hosting site of your choice (Facebook, Twitter, the VRArtLive Discord, Imgur, TikTok, personal websites, Pinterest, Youtube, Vimeo, ect).
Submit your shared link using the Art-Link Submission Form to be counted by the tally system all year.
Check the official challenge website for the tally count (usually posted every Sunday).

VR Art Live-Features
VR Art Live features outstanding artists on all our socials including but not limited to; Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Discord, Youtube, and in our virtual galleries online using various platforms currently including VRChat and Neos VR. The purpose, first and foremost, is to bring attention to the artist’s profile with proper attribution and to our new art medium in virtual reality, to bring in new members while engaging existing members of VR Art Live’s community, and collaborate with other groups and communities.
By submitting your artwork you agree to let VR Art Live’s team handle your artwork and use all necessary file types submitted to feature you and display your artwork for the purposes as mentioned in the above paragraph. You also agree that your artwork and/or files submitted can be used for promotional material for the purpose for which you submitted your artwork and for boosting VR Art Live’s related activities. Example; VR Art Live uses your artwork in a video that promotes the Feature which you have submitted your artwork to, for promoting that Feature program to others, promoting the event itself, promoting VR Art Live and it’s community and activity, promoting similar future events, and any other promotions or media needed for promoting similar or new Features from VR Art Live.
By submitting your artwork and files to VR Art Live you are also declaring that you are the sole creator and rights holder of all material distributed in the submitted artwork and media, or have received explicit permission from the original creator of elements or references in your artwork. You, the artist, and any collaborators attributed, will retain all copyright to your artwork being submitted, while all displays of the artwork and use of the files will have proper attribution by VR Art Live. No payment or ongoing royalty is requested for the sharing and use of the material for the purposes of joint social media exposure. VR Art Live will use your, and any collaborator’s, provided social media tags when using your artwork and media files.
The Featured Artist program features artwork from our associated and collaborative communities on our socials usually once or twice a month. The theme is usually open but will sometimes follow a theme according to the curator’s choice. If your art piece is chosen for this feature it will appear on our socials and sometimes in our virtual galleries. The time that it appears is approximately a week or two or until the next art piece circulates through. The media files needed for this Feature are usually a video which our Editor adds elements to such as, complimentary music, and an intro and end cap with VR Art Live’s logo and label as the featuring party and the artist’s name and certain details of the artist. If the video comes with music, the music may be changed to comply with all attributions. The video may be cut short to fit on all social media platforms. This Feature may extend to a solo Exhibit Feature, as in, featured artists may, in the future, be invited to have their artwork displayed for a certain time in our virtual galleries. The artist will be contacted and invited to this additional Feature and asked to upload their artwork as a 3D digital file. All musical additions, edits, and use of the video are handled with respect to the artist but the final cut is up to VR Art Live for maintaining a branded look and to follow the use principles as outlined in “Usage” section above. Your artwork may appear in VR Art Live’s future promotional material and media following the principles as outlined in “Usage” section above.
The Gallery Exhibit program features artists and their artwork from our associated and collaborative communities in our virtual galleries for a time period determined by our curator announced on VR Art Live’s website. These are usually themed exhibits and have an opening night. If your art piece is chosen for this feature it will appear on our socials for promoting VR Art Live’s Gallery and Exhibit Feature. The files needed for this Feature are usually 3D digital files, such as, .obj, .fbx, .glb, .gltf, ect. Your artwork and media files may need to be optimized to function properly in the virtual exhibit. Optimization may include; decimation of geometry, removal of brush strokes, file type conversion, key-frame to tween conversion of animations, ect., which is usually handled by our Developer Team and/or Optimization Team. Audio and animations may be applied to your artwork to enhance the experience and/or fit into the exhibit theme. Great effort will be taken to preserve the artwork in its original form, context, and appearance but final presentation is up to VR Art Live for maintaining the exhibit’s theme and to follow the use principles as outlined in “Usage” section above. Your artwork may also be paired or in-scene with other artist’s artwork as needed with every effort given to shine the light on all artists featured in the Exhibit. Your artwork may appear in VR Art Live’s future promotional material and media following the principles as outlined in “Usage” section above.
VRA Live Presents (Live Show/Event/Interview)
The Live Show program features artists and their artwork from our associated and collaborative communities in our virtual live show worlds hosted on various platforms, such as, VRChat, WaveXR, Altspace, and others . These are usually themed and are live experience performances held on a certain date at a specific time as announced on VR Art Live’s website. If your art piece is chosen for this feature it will appear in the Live Show that you submit your artwork to, and possibly on our socials for promoting VR Art Live’s Live Show Feature before and after the live show. Your art piece may also be featured in our virtual galleries as a memorial exhibit of the Live Show it was in. The files needed for this Feature are usually 3D digital files, such as, .obj, .fbx, .glb, .gltf, ect. Your artwork and media files may need to be optimized to function properly in the virtual space. Optimization may include; decimation of geometry, removal of brush strokes, file type conversion, key-frame to tween conversion of animations, ect., which is usually handled by our Developer Team and/or Optimization Team. Audio and animations may be applied to your artwork to enhance the experience and/or fit into the Live Show. Great effort will be taken to preserve the artwork in its original form, context, and appearance but final presentation is up to VR Art Live for maintaining the Live Show’s theme and to follow the principles as outlined in “Usage” section above. Your artwork may also be paired or in-scene with other artist’s artwork as needed with every effort given to shine the light on all artists featured in the Live Show. Audio File Submissions or Live Performances
These files and performances are regarded as artworks and will be handled the same as artwork submitted for any of the above features.
Storage & Handling of Art Files
VR Art Live will store your uploaded artwork and media files for as long as we need to be able to access for use for the requested Feature and for content production according to the “Usage” section above. As a reminder, VR Art Live will give proper attribution when using any of your artwork or media for these purposes. Although this is not a storage or cloud service we offer an opportunity to retrieve a copy of your original uploaded files at our convenience and discretion but there is no guarantee that we will still have the files available at the time of your request. We encourage you to maintain your own digital artwork library with backup copies. Your artwork may also be stored on platforms such as Google cloud storage or Sketchfab for the transfer process of files to various platforms with great care to maintain protection of the artist and their artwork.
VR Art Live maintains a trusted team that may have limited access to your uploaded files for process and handling, and while every effort is made to protect the artist and their artwork some unintentional events may arise. VR Art Live is a volunteer and community effort among a team of collaborative artists and developers, and you agree to release them of any unintentional mishandling and unforeseen access of your uploaded files, including artwork hacked from any platform we use to host our activities when you submit your files. You also agree to understand the Usage, Policies, and Releases of the platform that your artwork will be featured on which will be listed in the details on the specific Features webpage/blog.
